Fantastic accommodation, immaculate, well-designed throughout from the communal lounge/kitchen with great views and a log burner through to the accessible wet room, spacious bedrooms and comfortable beds. Had a great walk in the local wood with the dog and saw some deer and a red squirrel and the alpacas and pygmy goats were lovely to see. Maggie was very accommodating and welcoming. Would definitely recommend a visit.

WE LADIES FROM THE WEST
We Ladies from the west came,
To find another hame,
For some days of fun & rest,
Bramble Brae was just the best.
We brought bags of chocolate and wine,
And horses to have a good time,
We laughed from morn till night,
And the horses had very green “S** !?!
Try and keep us away,
We will always want to stay,
Country life was stunning,
And Maggie joined us funning.

Bramble Brae

What can I say about our week that probably hasn't already been covered by previous visitors?! Location - tick (perfect), Cottage - tick (amazing). Located off a quiet country road accessed via a private track Bramble Brae sits atop a small rise and is secluded yet accessible. With 2 greyhounds, the garden needed to be secure and it was; completely fenced and gated. Both dogs made the most of the large grounds as did our granddaughter who loved the slide and swing. There were great walks to be had directly from the cottage with private access onto the cycle path running behind it and several woods and forest walks within a mile radius. With 3 separate family groups the cottage allowed for great family entertaining yet privacy as well with 2 large en-suite bedrooms and a family bathroom linked to the 2 twin rooms. The open-plan living area and kitchen was a great size and easily catered for our group of 6 adults and 19-month grandchild. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything you could possibly need for large family cooking. We were lucky with the weather and the sun shone all week but the location made it ideal for alternative indoor activities in and around Edinburgh. Maggie is a great host and we arrived to home-made shortbread and milk, coffee, sugar, farm eggs and other essentials to kick-start our week. We met for a chat on the day after our arrival and Maggie was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. All in all this was a brilliant stay and we would 100% recommend Bramble Brae and we hope to come back again next year. Maggie - thanks again.

This was a great place for a whole family to get away and get together in a very nice place tucked away on a farm. Great host, great location, away from the city but not too far from civilization that you cannot get the things you need. Maggie is a great host, very helpful and responsive.

Excellent house, warm and cosy and spacious and lovely big beds. Everything you need, lovely living space and all on one level. Can’t recommend this house enough. Big thank you to Maggie and Sandy for taking the time to show the children around the farm. Fantastic place, looking forward to the next stay.

Wonderful place, very accurately described in the listing. Easy to find and, though in a very quiet and private location, well-connected to all kinds of amenities, walking routes, and nice places to visit. It's a great place for kids, extremely safe and with plenty of things to do in and around the house. The host was extremely welcoming and helpful, I would recommend this place unreservedly.
